About the Workshop: 

This workshop is offered by LTAP in partnership with LADOTD Highway Safety Section and the Regional Safety Coalitions working towards the implementation of the Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP).

It is designed for local public agencies (LPAs) and partner stakeholders involved in the implementation of low-cost road safety improvements aimed at reducing crashes and fatalities on all public roads in Louisiana.          

Who Should Attend?

This is particularly targeted to parish and municipal governments that have developed or in the process of developing a Local Road Safety (LRS) Plan as well as LPAs applying for Local Road Safety Program funding. 

Learning Outcomes:

1.  Discuss an overview of the Local Road Safety Program (LRSP) and how it fits in Louisiana's overall goal of reaching Destination Zero Deaths (DZD).

2.  Explain the steps involved in submitting a LRSP project application.

3.  Discuss the LRSP's eligibility requirements and provide example projects that have been implemented. 

4.  Explain the value of developing a Local Road Safety Plan as it relates to securing safety project funding.

5.  Discuss other available tools and how to use them to get projects.
