Topics include:
· Operating characteristics and safety concerns related to VRU’s
· Factors in the operating environment that present risks for VRU’s
· Available data sources and tools that can be used in VRU safety analysis
· Relating Proven Safety Countermeasures and the Safe Systems Approach to VRU’s
· Adapting and implementing local safety plans to address VRU needs
A field assessment will be conducted to provide participants an opportunity to physically evaluate issues on local roads and recommend proven safety countermeasures to address these issues.
